The AGBCSE (Association of Grace Baptist Churches (South East) is a network of currently 70 churches spread across the South East of England.
Our churches have chosen to associate together as a family, for mutual help and encouragement as we serve Jesus Christ and share His Good News of forgiveness and eternal life. We are united in our doctrinal identity as Grace Baptists, in expressing Christ’s command to love one another in fellowship, and in our shared mission of reaching those who are lost.
In addition to our network of independent churches, the Association also has a team of dedicated staff, who provide support to our churches with all of the logistics that are involved with running a church as a charitable organisation.
Just as a growing vine is greatly helped by a supporting trellis, so the Association charity aims to be a supporting trellis to the Gospel work of each of the Association churches. This work is done through the registered charity: The Association of Grace Baptist Churches (South East) — abbreviated to AGBC(SE) — and the company, called Grace Baptist Charities Ltd (GBCL).
The charity therefore serves the churches with financial, legal, and administrative support. The staff are able to pool expertise and communicate necessary governance advice to member churches. The charity acts as custodian trustee for many of chapel buildings and manses and provides some housing for retired pastors and missionaries.
The charity also stewards historical funds that provide grants to member churches to help with repairs and new developments. For some member churches, it also runs the payroll and banking support.
