Royd Court is an award-winning housing scheme for older people. The home is set in beautiful grounds with 58 one and two-bedroom flats. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the scheme by supporting and ensuring that the occupants are in a loving and caring environment whilst maintaining the Christian ethos. 

Each of our homes and schemes expresses God’s love through compassion and support that helps people live life to the fullest. Our focus is providing a loving and supportive environment for our “family members” (our residents) and maintaining the Christian ethos that is important to many of them.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating the needs of potential occupants against the eligibility criteria and allocating housing units accordingly;
  • Ensuring that the well-being of occupants is kept at a high standard;
  • Ensuring that support plans are kept up to date;
  • Responsible in managing all housing staff within the scheme; ensuring that all duties are covered during staff absences;
  • Managing the domestic and maintenance teams in the scheme;
  • Working with the finance team in the management of rents, services and other charges;
  • Responsible for devotions and leading devotional times as needed;
  • Providing excellent customer care, ensuring that telephone calls and personal callers and clients are dealt with in a friendly, efficient and professional manner by all staff;
  • Responsible for overseeing the health and safety of the scheme;
  • Managing complaints from service users, staff or others in accordance with Society policy;
  • Promoting the Society and the scheme to maximise occupancy, sale and rents, ensuring that contacts and enquiries are followed through and progressed towards occupancy as far as reasonably possible.

Skills/Experience:

  • An understanding of the needs of older people;
  • Management or supervisory experience in a housing scheme or similar environment; 
  • Experience working in a customer focus environment;
  • Ability to lead and motivate others;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Budget control management;
  • IT literate (MS package including Excel & Outlook);
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong organisation skills;

Hours:

30 hours a week (across 4 days)

“On-call” cover is required on a rotating basis to meet demands.
