Hope into Action Reading is a Christian supported housing charity, well connected with our local council and other support agencies in Reading and surrounding areas. We are part of the national Hope into Action network, and opened our first house in Reading in 2016. Each of our houses is opened in partnership with a local Christian church to provide a home with support for some of the most vulnerable in our community.
Our vision is that people who become homeless are valued, befriended and empowered to rebuild and transform their lives.
Our partner churches provide supportive friendship, investment, prayer and a caring community for our tenants. Hope into Action manage the referrals, tenancies, house maintenance, and provide ongoing professional support to empower our tenants to make long lasting positive changes in their lives and ultimately to move on into longer term accommodation.
Homes are available for a wide range of people experiencing homelessness: people in recovery from addiction, people sleeping rough, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people coming out of rehab, former prostitutes, refugees, those suffering mental health issues and survivors of human trafficking.
Our vision is for every church in Reading to lovingly provide the homeless with a home.
