St Mary’s is a welcoming Church of England parish serving the diverse communities of Iffley, Rose Hill, and Donnington in south-east Oxford. In recent years we have seen encouraging growth in our work with children, young people, and families — particularly through Messy Church and a developing youth ministry.
We are now looking for a Children and Families Worker to build on this momentum. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow ministry with children and families, deepen discipleship, and enable more families to encounter the love of God through the life of the church.
The role will involve developing new initiatives such as a parent and toddler group, seasonal family events, school partnerships, and a Year 6–7 transition group, as well as strengthening our existing programmes. A key part of the role will be recruiting and supporting volunteers to ensure this ministry is sustainable for the future.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a committed Christian with a living faith and a heart for sharing the good news of Jesus
- Enjoys building relationships with children, families, and volunteers
- Can take initiative, develop new ideas, and see projects through
- Has experience working with children and/or families in a church, school, or community setting
- Is a good team player with strong communication and organisational skills
