The Minster Corps of the South East Division (Kent) of the Salvation Army is looking for a part-time Community Mission Manager. This role combines the skills of management with a heart for Christian mission as well as spiritual maturity and leadership, and who can develop the programmes to intentionally introduce people to faith in Christ and integration into the church. You will work to meet the needs of the local community and support the work of The Salvation Army in managing Minster Salvation Army charity shop and the active and busy parent and toddler groups.
Key Responsibilities:
The post-holder will play a significant role in the successful delivery of mission to the local community within a large and complex setting. The role is responsible for delivering both the operational elements of the mission programme and managing the business resources of the Corps, including finances, people, buildings, charity shop and procedural and statutory compliance.
The successful candidate(s) will:
You will be a practising Christian with proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a similar environment and in managing staff and/or volunteers, be able to work on their initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers, and the public. It is important that the candidate understands the needs of the community and has proficiency in English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
This role has an occupational requirement to be a practising and committed Christian, actively involved with your own Church.
