The Youth and Community Pastoral Worker will play a key role in supporting the pastoral, relational and faith-based work of Rooted In.
You will lead and develop programmes within schools and the wider community, delivering practical and faith-based input that supports wellbeing, identity and purpose. The role also involves creating opportunities for young people to gain new experiences, access work placements and develop skills for their future.
In addition, you will build strong partnerships with schools, churches and volunteers, helping to strengthen support networks around young people. The role requires initiative, adaptability and a willingness to contribute ideas as the work continues to grow and develop.
This is a relationship-focused role, centred on building trust with young people and their families, and providing pastoral support to young people and our volunteers. You will lead and develop programmes within schools and the community, working closely with young people who may be vulnerable, disengaged or facing challenges.
This role involves delivering both practical and faith-based input that supports young people’s wellbeing, identity and sense of purpose. You will also help create opportunities for young people to try new experiences, access work placements, and develop skills that support them moving forward.
Alongside this, you will also build and maintain strong relationships with schools, churches and volunteers, helping to strengthen the support around young people and their families.
We are looking for someone who is able to use initiative, adapt to the needs of a changing community, and bring ideas that help the work grow and develop. As the role develops and the work of Rooted In continues to expand, there may be the opportunity for this position to increase to four days per week.
