The Diocese of Blackburn, created in 1926, covers most of Lancashire, including Blackburn, Blackpool, Preston, and Lancaster. Centred on Blackburn Cathedral, it has around 211 parishes and 280 churches, divided into the archdeaconries of Blackburn and Lancaster. Led by Bishop Philip North, with suffragan bishops Jill Duff and Joe Kennedy, it serves a diverse mix of urban, rural, and coastal communities, earning the nickname “England in miniature.”
