Location: Remote working with regular face to face meetings with the Executive Director

About Us
Medic Assist International (MAI) is a Christian charity that partners with extraordinary mission hospitals and clinics working tirelessly and selflessly towards improving health outcomes and access to high quality healthcare in some of the world’s poorest communities.
For many of those our partners serve, poverty, isolation, and desperation leave them feeling abandoned and forgotten. Encountering the Christ-centred, compassionate care of our partners makes a profound difference in the lives of those they care for, bringing health and hope in the hardest times.
MAI currently works with partners in Chad, India, South Africa and South Sudan. We are a small charity with an annual income of around £200k and have one employee.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Trusts and Foundations Grants Officer to help secure critical funding to enable us to grow our life saving work. Working with the Executive Director the Grants Officer will research potential grant opportunities, prepare persuasive applications, and help ensure ongoing good quality reporting to funders. Your efforts will directly support our mission to improve health, reduce suffering and save lives.
What you will be doing
- Researching and identifying grant opportunities from trusts and foundations
- Drafting and submitting high quality grant proposals tailored to each opportunity, aiming to submit two per month.
- Preparing interim and final grant reports in compliance with funder requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of applications, funder communications, and grant outcomes. Including maintaining an up-to-date grants calendar, tracking deadlines and outcomes.
- You will be playing a pivotal role in helping the charity grow and expand its reach and impact.
About you
- You are committed and practicing Christian able to represent the Christian ethos of MAI and our Christian healthcare partners, to be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
- You have strong written communication skills, with an ability to translate complex programs and outcomes into compelling narratives. You will ideally have experience with grant writing fundraising.
- You have good research and organizational skills
- You want to be part of something exceptional and make a significant contribution to seeing a small charity continuously improve and grow its support to providing access to healthcare for those living in extreme poverty.
- You’re a practical, confident and team player who can work independently
- You are a completer finisher but able to pay attention to detail
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Teams
- Have access to a computer and printer
