Magara Law is looking for an Employment Paralegal to join our firm. Full training will be given in relation to our practices, procedures and systems.
The role is home-based, and you will be provided with all the necessary IT and equipment to fulfil it.
This is a full-time - Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 5:30.
Salary: £24,000 per annum.

- To undertake legal and general administrative support duties;
Duties:
We have a commendable mix of claimant and respondent work. We act for clients on contentious, non-contentious and advisory UK employment law matters including:
- Employment contract, service agreement and policy preparation.
- Disciplinary and grievance guidance.
- Capability and employee ill-health absence management.
- Pay, bonus, incentives and remuneration rights.
- Securing employee business confidentiality and customer information protection, and enforcement of post-termination restrictions including fiduciary obligations.
- Settlement agreements.
- Workforce rights management in redundancy and reorganisation programmes.
- Discrimination and harassment rights.
- Dismissal and employment termination.
- Board level rights and directors' duties.
- Statutory rights and enforcement in Employment Tribunals, including whistleblowing claims.
- Working with and providing colleagues with appropriate support in the provision of such advice to clients and, increasingly, autonomously.
- Actively improving own knowledge and expertise in all areas of employment law and participating in and contributing to departmental training.
- Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives of team and firm.
It is desireable that you:
- Have previous non-contentious, contentious and advisory employment experience.
- Have the ability to manage your own caseload.
- Have the ability to work collaboratively as part of the team.
- Are willing to be proactive in business development and marketing
Further duties:
- To act as the first point of contact for enquiries to legal services including answering telephone calls, emails and written enquiries
- Drafting communications to clients
- Collating tribunal bundles
- Conflict, ID and AML checks
- Opening new files and updating them accordingly with documentation
- Billing
- Liaising with team to manage enquiries and workflow to ensure comprehensive service to clients
- Drafting articles, blogs and posting on social media on behalf of the firm
