Our friendly, inclusive Methodist Church in Lindley is recruiting for a new part-time role of Children and Families Mission Enabler to strengthen and grow our missional activities by:

• working with us to identify and develop innovative new opportunities to engage with children and families in our local community and support their faith journeys;

• helping children and families explore the Christian faith in creative and dynamic ways;

• encouraging and inspiring our church family to get involved in children and families’ mission.

If you’re excited by this opportunity and you’d like to come and join us, you’ll need to:

• have previous relevant experience of leading work with children and families in a church or charity;

• be flexible, confident and innovative in expressing the Christian faith;

• possess strong communications, team leadership and organisational skills. As you’ll be working with children and vulnerable adults, the appointment does require a satisfactory enhanced DBS Disclosure with barred lists check. To succeed in sharing the Church’s mission, an occupational requirement exists for the appointee to be a practising Christian.

NEXT STEPS & MAIN TERMS

Hours of work: 25 hours per week worked flexibly over four to five days, which will include teatime, evening and weekend work. Core hours of 8.45am to 11.45am on Mondays during term time. You will not be expected to work on more than five days per calendar week.

Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract Rate of pay: Between £13.50 and £16.00 per hour (actual salary between £17,550 and £20,800 for 25 hours per week, with annual review), dependent on experience and qualifications, with enrolment in the Church’s workplace pension scheme.

Location: Based at Lindley Methodist Church, Huddersfield with the opportunity for some homeworking in agreement with your Line Manager.
