Part-Time Maintenance Person

We're looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Person to help keep The Light Church building safe, well-maintained, and ready for services, events, and community use.

This is a hands-on, practical role at the heart of church life — ensuring our premises are a welcoming and safe environment for our congregation and the wider community we serve.

It's about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes — so our church can focus on worship, mission, and community impact.

In this role, you'll:

• Carry out routine building inspections and undertake minor repairs across a range of trades, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting
• Maintain a maintenance log and manage stock levels of supplies and equipment
• Conduct regular safety checks including fire exits, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting
• Carry out Legionella (water temperature) checks in line with health and safety requirements
• Support coordination of statutory annual inspections — gas safety, electrical testing, and more
• Liaise with and supervise external contractors for specialist or complex works
• Set up and pack down rooms for Sunday services, events, rentals, and church activities
• Work collaboratively with the Executive Assistant and church leadership team
