Salary is £25,000 - £29,000 per annum Full Time Equivalent pro rata depending on hours and experience. A non-contributory pension contribution will be provided in line with government regulations
• Whilst normal hours of work will be a minimum of 20 hours per week to maximum of 37.5 hours as agreed, the nature of the work calls for a degree of flexibility, thus hours of work, which are as agreed with the DFW Management Committee and may vary from day to day.
• The post is run from Kenmure Church, Viewfield Road, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow G64 2AF.
• The bulk of preparatory work / computer work can be done from home. Laptop and accessories will be provided. Full DSE Assessment will be completed.
• There are 5 weeks annual paid leave in each full holiday year which runs from 1 January to 31 December. Entitlement is calculated pro-rata. There are also 9 statutory holidays.
• Travel expenses by public transport or by use of own car at rates as agreed by your Employer and reviewed annually.
• In view of the nature of the post, the postholder will be required to be a member of Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme and have the legal Right-to-work in the UK
MAIN DUTIES
- Identify and assess the needs of the parish in order to create and be responsible for actioning new missional opportunities within the parish supported by the congregation
- Build on the existing community and family work and look to develop this in a way that serves and reaches new people in our community
- Assist the organising and running of youth and children's activities
- Develop and utilise links with other community groups, agencies and schools
- Identify opportunities for development of leadership and volunteers within existing organisations – GB, BB, The Guild, Toddlers, etc
- Identify opportunities for development of leadership and volunteers within existing activities – ABC, Alpha, Christianity Explored
- Attend Kenmure Church each Sunday to assist developing relationships within the church, Bible Class, First Sunday Club, and Creche
- Support volunteers with outreach work in the community
- Be involved in and support the weekly prayer meetings and bible studies
- To deepen relationships in the church family and foster growth and discipleship.
- Communicate information, vision and progress monthly to the DFW Management Group and on occasion to Session.
- Undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time by your line manager.
