What Does This Post Offer?
This is a chance to be part of the staff team in a warm, community-focused church.
You’ll work closely with our Acting Minister, get stuck into leadership, and help shape church life and community outreach.
You’ll receive mentoring, tailored training, and real opportunities to grow your gifts while turning learning into action.
From preaching to pastoral care, community projects to admin, worship leading to children & youth work — your role will flex to suit your strengths, and our needs, as we journey together in serving God in our neighbourhood.

What Experience Do You Need?
We welcome applications from Christians from all backgrounds, but this role best suits someone already growing in faith and leadership.
You might have served in your church, done ministry training, an internship, a discipleship course, or gained experience through university or theology studies.
What Are The Basics?
Basics for anyone to do this job are:
- being a committed Christian* who shares our beliefs (click here)
- able to pass an Enhanced DBS check for children and adults with care and support needs
- being prepared to live within 5 miles of Gateway Christian Church
- being a UK citizen or having Settled Status, as we are not able to sponsor visa applications.
*This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Contract: 1 year in the first instance.
Based mainly at the growing Gateway Centre, our local community hub and home of the church.
Includes weekly mentoring and regular reviews.
