Job Opportunity
We're looking for an organised, experienced and capable leader to enable our mission to see lives transformed through the provision of brilliant venues management (of our community buildings) and 'business' oversight for our Coffee House and external event bookings. If you love Jesus and are excited by the prospect of building a strong venue, business and external hire strategy for our church assets, as well as leading and equipping team, we want to hear from you.
Why This Role Matters
We believe every room, every cup of coffee, every welcome, and every well-run event has the potential to change someone’s life. That’s why this role matters — because you’ll be helping create space for transformation, stewarding what we’ve been given with faith, vision, and excellence.
The Role
At Citygate Church, we exist to see lives transformed every day across the bay. Part of how we live that out is by stewarding the spaces God has entrusted to us — using our buildings not just for church life, but for wider kingdom impact, reaching our community and showing generosity; as well as generating revenue for our charitable fund.
We’re looking for a Venues & Business Manager to take a lead in how our buildings serve our community and our mission. You’ll oversee:
- The smooth running, maintenance and development of our two venues (including the 600-seater Citygate Centre in central Bournemouth) including shaping the systems that keep everything running efficiently and purposefully
- Lead and develop the Venue Team and oversee our Coffee House Manager
- Play a key role in our trading subsidiary, Citygate Events Ltd, which manages room hire / external bookings that build our community relationships and serve our local context
- Oversee the success and sustainability of Arch Coffee House.
This is a practical, people-focused role that brings together vision, leadership and organisation. It’s about creating environments where people feel at home, where excellence reflects our values, and where everyday spaces become places of transformation.
More details can be found in the attached Job Description. The required experience is our ideal preference; however, if you believe you have equally transferable skills to offer (for example, you've not had the business experience, but you do have the venue management experience or have managed a team before) we still want to hear from you.
Let us know in your covering letter why you think you'd be a great fit for this role.
