We are seeking to recruit an experienced manager to lead our existing frontline teams and further develop our well established and high-quality family services located in Belfast.

The Salvation Army operates over 80 supported accommodation services across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We call these services ‘Lifehouses’ because they are more than a place to stay. They are places where people can access support with their housing issues – but also find support to develop person centred support with other aspects of their lives such as employment & training, money management, loneliness & isolation, addiction, mental health and spirituality.

Centenary House is the largest residential Life House in Belfast accommodating vulnerable homeless men over 18 years of age. 

Key Responsibilities:

The Service Manager will oversee the operation of these services in terms of performance management and develop and enhance the strategic and operational relationship with key stakeholders.

The role of Service Manager is central to achieving positive outcomes for our vulnerable clients with responsibility for local strategic vision and direction along with the day-to-day leadership of a team of dedicated professionals. You will champion excellence in terms of high-quality, cost-effective client centred service delivery.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable previous experience of successfully managing and delivering a similar support service to clients.
  • Strong knowledge of issues relating to homelessness including current legislation, government policy, the state benefits framework and any relevant client support pathways.
  • Active involvement in a Christian worshipping community.
  • NVQ Level 4, Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in a related field.

This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
