JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Role: Community Pastor

Location: Causeway Coast Vineyard, 10 Hillmans Way, Coleraine

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (usually Mon-Fri 9-5 but sometimes outside normal working hours) 

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (depending on qualifications, experience & desirable criteria)

Pension: A generous employers pension contribution of 5.5% is included with this role 

Sick pay: Company sick pay policy is included 

Holiday allowance: 31 days per year including bank holidays

Length of Employment: Permanent

Causeway Coast Vineyard is a vibrant, pioneering, missional community in Northern Ireland with around 700 people attending Sunday services. We are a church where lives are changing, a place where people are saying ‘yes’ to God and experiencing life in a fresh way.

JOB SUMMARY

With that in mind, we are seeking to employ a Community Pastor who shares our heart to see a healthy church thrive and a city transformed through the power and love of Jesus. We expect to see our team grow and so the ideal candidate will have experience of working in a large church or similar organisation. They must embrace our mission of building a generous, hospitable, supernatural church; helping us to remain inwardly strong and outwardly focused.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Community Pastor will include significant management responsibilities. The salary band is reflective of this. Core responsibilities include.

 

  1. Creating Culture
    1. Along with Senior Leadership you will help to lead CCV into becoming an increasingly Jesus-centred church which is both inwardly strong and outwardly focused. You will be expected to attend the church and contribute to and create environments for people to connect and grow.
       
  2. Pastoral Care
    1. Develop and implement a church wide system of pastoral care where everyone takes responsibility for loving our community into life.
    2. Conduct Weddings and Funerals
       
  3. Newcomers
    1. Develop and oversee a connection pathway for newcomers

 

 

  1. Development and implementation of Small Groups
    1. Responsibility for the visionary leadership, implementation and development of our Small Group structure
    2. Identifying and releasing groups that are in line with our vision
    3. Identifying, training and releasing new Small Group leaders alongside continued investment in current leaders and Small Group overseers.
    4. We expect the number of Small Groups to grow each term both in scale, quality and creativity.
       
  2. Emotional Health & Resilience
    1. Implement pathways and structures to grow emotional health and resilience across church and the wider community

 

  1. Other responsibilities
    • You will be required to keep accurate records, both qualitive and quantitative, to monitor development and success of the ministry area.
    • As part of a growing team within CCV you will be expected to; pray with and lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus; signpost others to appropriate help within the church; attend appropriate staff meetings, gatherings and training events.
