The Director of Finance will be responsible for all aspects of financial management and reporting and will work closely with other members of the Leadership Team to proactively identify fundraising needs and income-generating opportunities. They will take an imaginative and creative approach and will be required to communicate complex information simply to non-specialists, giving a clear view of both opportunities and risks and providing broad brush overviews in addition to more detailed analysis.
The postholder will be an experienced finance professional who will provide strategic financial planning and ensure that the charity stewards its resources well, whilst identifying and managing risks and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. They must be experienced in the management of accounts with multiple funding sources and have a good knowledge of charity accounting. They will be used to balancing numerous demands and deadlines and be committed to ensuring that the finance function works effectively across the charity. Tyndale House is in the process of a major building project and we are seeking to purchase a number of additional residential properties; an ability to respond proactively to this situation is required as is some knowledge of VAT in relation to charitable activities. The postholder will also need to be willing and able to be ‘hands on’, as is necessary in a small organisation.
