Children's and Youth Pastor

We are an active Anglican parish in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, with lots of activities for children and young people, and exciting potential for growth. This is an opportunity to extend our work with children, teenagers and young families, and to build upon recent initiatives.

Our vision is to see children, young people and families experience a life-transforming encounter with Jesus and to live that out in their community.

We are therefore looking for a person who can oversee and advance our children’s and youth work, setting the vision for its development, leading our various teams of volunteers, and creating and implementing an action plan for the growth of children and young people in our two worshipping communities.

Candidates will need experience of working with children and young people, as well as leading one or several teams.

There is a genuine occupational requirement that the successful candidate is a practising Christian.

The contract is initially for 3 years (with a probationary period of 6 months), but the Parochial Church Council would definitely wish to extend the contract after 2 years if satisfied by the performance of the successful candidate.

The role is preferably full-time (35 hours), though candidates who are seeking part-time hours will be considered.

The full-time salary range (dependant on qualifications and experience) is from £25,025 p.a. to £30,030 p.a. for 35 hours per week, or a pro-rata proportion of this salary range for a successful, part-time candidate.
