Care Home Friends Co-ordinator
Embracing Age
About Us
Embracing Age is a Christian charity working towards a world where older people are valued, connected and full of hope. We do this by befriending care home residents, supporting informal carers and equipping churches in their work amongst older people. Care home residents are twice as likely to feel severely lonely than older people living at home and we want to embrace them with God's love.
About the Role
The Care Home Friend Co-ordinator is responsible for pioneering and managing our care home befriending projects in West Sussex. This will involve recruiting volunteers, carrying out necessary background checks, organising their training, placing them in local care homes and providing them with ongoing support. It will also involve building relationships with local care homes, and getting support from local churches, and other stakeholders, such as voluntary sector organisations.
About You
You’ll be a friendly, confident individual with a track record of pioneering, who is looking for a part time flexible role. We want someone who shares our Christian ethos and is passionate about our cause. You'll need to live in the area and you'll be working from home, but in regular contact with the rest of the Embracing Age team via online meetings.
