Children & Youth Worker

To support  young people's groups on Sundays from 1 - 13 years, as well as toddler group.  Join the Church Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategy for the Children and Youth work.  Outreach activities.  Co-ordination with other churches and organisations in the area.  Encourage the whole body of Christ to be involved in prayer, teaching and care of children and youth.    As well as advising leaders and volunteers.  Implementation of the church's Health and Safety Policy in relation to children and youth activities.  Administering basic first aid as necessary.   Ensuring that the church's safeguarding procedures are complied with and that all team members are fully trained in good practice.  Overseeing the budget for the work.

Regularly attend existing youth and children's activities, providing teaching input or other help as required.

Regularly meet with a Line Manager (or mentor) and engage fully in an annual review process.

Attend church leadership team meetings.

Organise regular meetings with existing volunteers for guidance, support, supervision.   Discuss concerns or issues.

Meet with representatives of other churches/organisations to develop a local network.

Ensure that all youth and children's activities are staffed appropriately.   All Safeguarding and Health and Safety procedures are followed.

Create and lead the implementation of  a Youth and Children's work strategy that covers both internal and outreach activities.

Participate, as required, in training activities i.e. first Aid, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
